  • I have a single dad with 4 kids in need of housing at $600/month in the Mt. Juliet area. Also need work clothes 30×30 blue jeans, medium solid color T-shirts, size 9 work boots a frig, and washer/dryer. There are more thinks he will need but will not know exactly what until after our group meets with him tomorrow.

We still have needs with our two single moms. They really need a washer and dryer. If you know anyone that has one or both please let me know.

We also need to restock some of our clothes. If you are cleaning out closets this weekend don’t forget us. We are low on boys and mens clothing and young girls sizes as well.

We are low on towel sets and cleaning supplies.

Hope you all have a great Holiday weekend!

Home

The Bridges are now in a home in Goodlettsville that was their parents. They will be rebuilding in White House. They have been overwhelmed by the support and they don’t want to move. I met with them today and they were so thankful for the Christmas and donations that you all have provided. The next step is going to be furniture. They have a fridge, washer and dryer that came with the home. I have had several people call and offer donations of furniture and I will be forwarding all of that information to them. If you have any items that you would like to donate please contact me at 615-715-9577 . I will get a definitive list up tomorrow of what they have not been able to acquire.

Donations

Thanks for all the generous giving for the Bridges family fund! For any NON-CASH item donations, PLEASE call Melanie (615)715-9577. We are no longer dropping at Petitt’s. CASH donations are welcomed at any Regions bank location. Thanks SO much!

Today’s Update for the Bridges Family Fire Donations

I will be meeting with the family tomorrow so they can pick up the donated items. Gifts, Clothing, Cash and Gift Cards were generously given to them. Thank you to all of you for being this families angels. I was praying for a scripture to have for them for comfort. This is what I opened my Bible to:
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:25-27. I know that God has His hand in all of this. I can’t wait to see what all is going to take place for this family.
Thanks to all of you again
Be Blessed,
Melanie

Miss Betty

I met Miss Betty last week when she came to “Be Blessed” for clothing and various items to take back to Mulawa, Africa.  While being here she has learned how to sew and make jewelry so that she can provide another source of income for her family.  The only income she has is by planting crops.  If the crops to not produce she has no money.  Betty’s goal is to buy a home in Mulawa for all of her children and family.  A home there costs $18,000.  I talked with her for over an hour about her life, her faith in God and her love for America.  She does not wish to move here.  She just encouraged me to pray that the United States would continue to help the people of Africa.  They love Americans and feel as though we are God’s chosen country.  She reminded me that our money says “In God We Trust”.  Betty was amazed by Goodwill and that you could walk in to a store and buy shoes for $3.  They have nothing like that in Africa.  She told me that we have no idea how spoiled and blessed we are in America.  I realized how right she was.  We are given so much and yet we are still not pleased with our lives.  We depend on so many things to make us happy that are material and not spiritual.  I was astonished by her knowledge of scripture and complete joy of life.  She has FAITH the kind Brother David spoke of at Easter Service.  Betty knows that God will provide her with what she needs.  She reminded me that this is the God who had a small boy, David, slain Goliath.  How could He not be that same God to a woman who is raising a family?  I was in complete shock.  I felt like the Holy Spirit was speaking through her to me.  It is so easy to keep our focus on ourselves and what is going on in our own little world of drama.  God is so much bigger than that.  I think we put him in a box at times and think on our own human level.

Isaiah 55

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.

9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

I just wanted to share that what we are doing is making an impact on others no matter how big or small.  Betty left with 4 trash bags full of clothes, linens, purses and other items.  I am so thankful to everyone that helps us by giving their items to us so that we can bless women like Miss Betty.  We are impacting the world!!

Mark 16

15He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

Be Blessed,

Melanie
